Phoenix and Scottsdale Scorpion Control Pros know that regular nighttime scorpion hunts are both effective and fun!

Scorpion Control is one of the most difficult, involved, and rewarding tasks for a Pest Control Professional to take on. Scorpion hiding places are sometimes hard to isolate. The scorpions themselves are very tough to kill, and almost impossible to prevent.  So what can a homeowner do to help their pest professional and make treatments more effective? Nighttime black-light hunts are a fun way to kill scorpions, helping to reduce their population on your property and reducing the number of scorpions that have the potential to get into your home. We the NatureZone team give you the best scorpion pest control in Phoenix.

Why do Scorpions fluoresce?

Well, there’s part of an answer to that question. Scorpions have an exoskeleton (called the cuticle). This cuticle protects them from all sorts of things, including making them less susceptible to pesticides. It also has a substance in it called Hyaline. Hyaline is what causes the cuticle to fluoresce in ultraviolet light, but scientists still aren’t sure where the hyaline comes from. But they know that it’s a very durable substance lasting for millions of years because they have found scorpion fossils that fluoresce in the same way!

So here’s the fun part! Grabbing an ultraviolet flashlight and going outside to check your property for scorpions at night can do a few beneficial things for you. First, it can help you locate and identify the heaviest infested areas on your property so that you can share this information with your Scottsdale Scorpion Control technician. Thus you can make your treatments much more effective!

Benefits of Controlling Scorpion At Night

The other benefit to nighttime hunts is to reduce the population on your property, and also makes breeding more difficult for them. Generally, making your home less likely to be invaded by these creepy, nasty gangsters of the arthropod world.

Shining your light along Block fences, cracks and crevices, large rock formations, around trees and around the foundation of your home are all great ways of finding scorpions. taking a quick knockdown aerosol or other means of dispatching them is the last step. When you locate a scorpion, first kill it immediately (easily done with a direct spray from a common household pesticide), then take note of the location for your records and to help your Scottsdale Scorpion control service person to know of the potential problem area.

Many of my customers have a good time doing this and have seen results much faster than relying on pesticide treatments alone. That’s what the natural approach to pest control is all about, Making use of every tool available to use so that we do not have to count on just the pesticides that we use. But natural termite control is good.
